Captured ship: Griffin of Stade [Bremen-Verden] (master Hans Florck, otherwise Flörck).
History: a Swedish (Bremen-Verden) merchant ship (110-120 lasts, 15 men), bound from Rotterdam to, it was said, any port this side of Finisterre, laden with mats, tow, flax, twine and wine; taken sometime between mid-January (when the crew were hired at Amsterdam) and 17/27 February 1672/1673 by an unnamed captor (commander also unnamed), and brought into Newcastle upon Tyne.
