Captured ship: Green Parrot or Il Papagallo Verdo (master Jan Jansen Braeggele [of Greenock, resident] of Stettin, otherwise John Johnson Brackhill, Brakel, Braeggel) [second capture: see HCA 32/147/26 for the first].

History: a Swedish merchant ship ([dogger], 40 tons, 6 men, built in Holland, bought at Rotterdam in January 1671/1672, previously named Golden Butt), bound from Londonderry to Le Havre and Ostend, laden with butter; taken in early March 1672/1673 by the privateer Dover (Ignatius Brett commanding) and brought into Dover [on 10/20 March 1672/1673].

Extra information:-

Said by Carlile to have been taken by a Dutch privateer and then been retaken by the Dover privateer, but this is not stated in the examinations - only that the ship had met a Dutch privateer off the Isle of Wight.
