Description

Captured ship: Golden Windmill or De Aurata Mola (master Peter Benjamin otherwise Benjaminsen).

History: a Danish-Norwegian merchant ship, said to be in ballast; seized in the port of Plymouth to the use of the Lord High Admiral, James, Duke of York, by 24 May/3 June 1673.

Court Papers, numbered CP 1:-

  • [CP 1]: original wrapper with HCA note that the master was examined on 24 May 1673 and that the examination was enclosed [examination not found]);

Ships Papers, numbered SP 1-4:-

  • SP 1: Bergen burgerbrief for master, in Danish, 6 February 1673;
  • SP 2-SP 3: Danish passes in Latin and Danish, 19 April 1673);
  • SP4: letter in Dutch from the master at Dordrecht to his wife at Amsterdam, 2 May 1673.
