Captured ship: Fortune of Schiedam (master Gerret Pietersen Boet of Schiedam, otherwise Garret Peters Boet).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (260 tons, built at Zaandam about 4 years before), bound from Lisbon to Danzig or Holland, laden with salt; taken on 14/24 March 1672 off Beachy Head, whilst under Dutch warship escort [in the remnants of the Smyrna convoy ?], by [HMS Mermaid ([Thomas Hamilton] commanding) and brought first into Dover, and then into London].
