Captured ship: Fortune of Hamburg (master Harman Filler, otherwise Herman Villers).
History: a Hamburg merchant ship (100 tons, built at Zaandam, bought by master in Scotland about 12 years before), bound from Rouen to Hamburg, laden with paper, teazels, silk, hats, wine, champagne, indigo, vinegar, earthenware pots, dyes, ginger, raisins, gum, syrup, capers, prunes, playing cards, combs, pears, molasses, and other goods; taken off the Downs about the end of April, possibly brought into the Downs on 27-28 April/7-8 May 1672, perhaps by HMS Guernsey (Harris commanding), and brought into Dover.
