Description

Captured ship: Flying Hart [Vliegende Hart] of Rotterdam (master John Aronson of Delfshaven).

History: a Dutch fishing vessel (buss), laden with herrings and salt; taken in mid-October 1673 by HMS Holmes ([Cassivelan] Burton commanding) and brought into Harwich on 20/30 October 1673.

Court Papers, numbered CP 1-2:-

  • [CP 1]: HCA cover;
  • [CP 2]: two examinations taken at Harwich, 20 October 1673.

  • Owners Cornelius Johnson of Rotterdam, and others unnamed of Rotterdam, Schiedam and Delfshaven.
