History: an English merchant ship (frigate, 240 tons, built at London, prize crew of 29 men), bound from London and Plymouth to Barbados, laden with many casks of dry goods, fire stones, hoops, beef and bread; taken in fight (after a battle of about 1-3 hours) about 5 pm on 30 October/9 November 1673 off the Lizard and about 10 leagues off Scilly by two Dutch privateers, the 12-gun Brandwicke [otherwise Brandwijk] of Flushing (Joris Prijs commanding) and the 28-gun Hannah of Middelburg (Jasper Danielson commanding), then bound for Corunna and retaken about 20-21 hours later on 31 October/10 November 1673 about 20-30 leagues west of Scilly by HMS Plymouth (Anthony Young commanding) and brought into Plymouth.
