An indenture witnessing the surrender by Thomas Watson, Bishop of St Davids, to the King, of the yearly sum of £18 granted to the bishop, by deed dated 17 November 1679, in consideration of a debt of £300, by Gilbert Whitehall of London, goldsmith, being part of the yearly sum of £14,931 19s 4d granted to Whitehall by King Charles II by letters patent dated on or about 30 April 1677, out of the hereditary revenue of excise.
