Folios 146-147. A letter from Caryll [Viscount] Molyneux concerning his enquiries into 'irregularities at the regulating of corporations' in his lieutenancy. Only Lancaster [Lancashire] and Wigan [Lancashire] were regulated; and Preston [Lancashire] did not comply with the court. He has sent the deputations to the deputy lieutenants of Preston and the chief gentry of Lancashire, but they have sent them back saying they are illegal and against their conscience. Folio 148. List of deputies to whom Molyneux has sent deputations: James Holt of Castleton; Roger Mowell of Read; Edward Fleetwood; Thomas Grenehalgh; Thomas Braddell; Thomas Preston of Hooker; and Alexander Rigby. Sir Robert Brindlosse received his 'very cheerfully'.
