Folios 164-164A. Letter dated at Cambridge from J Saumard to Sir G [Joseph] Williamson, Germain [Jermyn] Street, London. He assures Sir Joseph of his gratitude for his favour which he hopes will continue. He is making such good progress in learning English that he thinks 'before a year's end' to be able to preach and in the meanwhile he asks Sir Joseph to help him to a place as a reader somewhere in the country 'for being in orders and enjoying such a place, however small' would enable him to find some other ways of getting his livelihood.
