Folio 146. Letter from William Nott to Sir Joseph Williamson at Cobham Hall that Lady Essex Griffin's chaplain had submitted her request to the vestry to have the pew vacated by the Duke of Albemarle which led to Sir Joseph's letter being read 'and some words passed by Sir Thomas Clargis and others'. Nott writes that there are 'great alterations in the city coming on, no less than 900 men of the Assistance and Liveries of the city to be turned out' of which he is the first of the Roll of the Haberdashers' Company.
