Folio 138. Letter dated at London from James Sloane to Sir Joseph Williamson at Cobham Hall reporting the death of Mr Best, the solicitor in Chancery and in light of which he advises Sir Joseph to secure his papers that were in Best's possession 'before they be embezzled or come to the perusal of persons whom you would not have meddle with them' and to prevent any surprise being sprung on Sir Joseph before the Master. Rooke says he knows that Sir Joseph has one adversary who is vigilant.
