Description

Folio 135. Letter dated at London from John Rooke to Lady Catherine O'Brien that Mr Best's house is shut up, the clerks not yet returned from the funeral and Mrs Best not to be spoken to about business. Rooke writes that Doctor Tennyson cannot give Lady Catherine an answer as no vestry has been called but Mr Nott says he and Tennyson will do well enough for her when one is.
