Folios 602-603: Robert Cuthbert, Sea Fencibles, Hull. Has received directions from the Admiraly that guns and shot will be sent to him for the use of those vessels manned by the Sea Fencibles for the defence of the coast. Suggests that since all of his vessels are ballast lighters which are not fitted for carrying guns, that it would be better to place them at the South End Battery, where there is a crane nearby. The flags and staffs for the signal houses have not yet arrived.
