Folios 205-206: John Culverhouse, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reports that the apprentices Benjamin Cook and Thomas Harris were impressed because both appeared to have been at sea prior to their indentures. Encloses their indentures [no longer present].
Folio 207: enclosed with folio 208. Affidavit sworn by William Christie, Master of the brig Mary, at Liverpool before P W Brancken dated 14 March 1804. Benjamin Cooke and Thomas Harris are both his apprentices and shown in the annexed [no longer present] indentures. Although the Admiralty had granted them protections, they were impressed on 7 March and are now aboard the guardship. Both men are 18 years of age and have never been to sea before the date of their indentures.
Folios 208-209: enclosed with folios 205-206. Encloses an affidavit from Captain William Christie of the Mary concerning the impressment of his apprentices Benjamin Cooke and Thomas Harris. The officers of the Impress Service said they took the two men because they were 18 years of age. Even if this is so, they were never at sea before the date of their indenturees. Asks for their discharge.
