Folios 267-268: James Colnett, HMS Glatton, Leith. Enclosing letter from Richard Scougall to Board of Customs in Edinburgh. Reporting that the Osnabugh revenue vessel has sailed for Long Hope Sound and he expects the Leith armed ship to follow shortly.
Folios 269-270: enclosure with folios 267-268. Letter dated 4 May 1804 by Richard Scougall, Leith. Wanting clarification of quantine rules. The officer commanding the impress service has dispatched a lieutenant and a party of men in a cutter to Inverkeithing Bay to lay in wait to impress the crew of the brig Dummond currently under quarantine the moment the ship is liberated. Steps need to be taken to prevent the men escaping before the quarantine expires to avoid being impressed.
