Folios 233-234: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Response to a request to state the case of David Morris, who was impressed on 8 July and whose discharge has been applied for by Alex Bartleman. Encloses a petition for release that he says outline the circumstances.
Folios 235-236: enclosure with folios 233-234. Letter dated 9 July 1804 by Alex Bartleman, Tynemouth. Petition for the discharge of David Morris, Mate of the ship Alexander. He was impressed when he went ashore for treatment for a violent illness, as there was no-one on board to treat him. Requests that he is released and if this cannot be done without a replacement man being found, he will find a substitute.
