Folios 176-177: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields,. Response to a request to state the case of John Nok, who was impressed at Shields on 23 May 1804 and whose discharge has been applied for by the Swedish Consul, Mr Claes Grill. He has onboard a John Hook, who had a protection certificate from Claes Grill in his possession, However this man is an outpatient at Greenwich Hospital, has been many years in the navy and was on the gunner's crew on the Saint George. He has no doubt that he has received the King's Bounty.
