Folios 156-157: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Response to request to state the case of two men he impressed. John Harris, was impressed at Sunderland on 16 April 1804 and his discharge has been applied for by Mr Habday. He was impressed as he was a bargeman on the river. John Smith was impressed on 29 March 1804 because he had no wages specified against his name on the Ship's Articles. His discharge was applied for by Mr Blenkinsop.
Folio 158: enclosure with folios 156-157. Letter dated 9 May 1804 by John Harris, HMS Zealand, Nore, to John Hobdy, near the Market Place, Harwich. Request for his Protection Certificate and other documentation to be sent to show William Charleton.
Folios 159-160: enclosure with folios 156-157. Letter dated 11 May 1804 by Thomas Blenkinsop, Agent for Mr Hutton. Request for John Smith, Chief Mate on the Beaver of Whitby, to be discharged from service. He was impressed on 29 March 1804 and is now on board the Kings Fisher in the Downs. Enclosed affidavits for their consideration [items not included].
