Folios 135-136: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Acknowledges letter from Mr Alderson requesting the discharge of Francis Watkins, late Mate of the ship Hebe. A man fitting his description was impressed on 5 January 1804 but is known to him as Francis Walker. He was detained as he had not signed any Articles of Agreement.
Folios 137-138. enclosure with folios 135-136. Letter dated 4 May 1804 by A Alderson, 5 Winchester Street Broad Street. Request for discharge of Francis Watkins, Mate of the ship Hebe of Whitby, who was impressed with three others at Shields. Following on from the response from Captain Charlton that this was not the case, an affidavit now states that Francis Watkins was impressed on the 5th January 1804 and put on board the Eliza Tender, he is now on HMS Trusty.
