This series contains Home Office Departmental Security Unit (DSU Symbol Series) files. The files cover two main areas: physical security of government buildings (reports of surveys of buildings' security arrangements, vulnerability and risk assessments, recommendations for improvements) and personnel security (ensuring that all personnel working for the Home Office have the appropriate security clearance).

The files in this Series are mainly policy files relating to the security of buildings on the Home Office estate (usually research facilities) and to inquiries into high security breaches.
