Folios 474-475: William Charleton, Regulating Officer, North Shields. The man mentioned in the enclosed letter was impressed at Shields on 25th December. The Act the Mr Blenkinsop mentioned was passed because of the demands of the Ship Owners in 1795 to prevent combinations amongst Seamen. Mr Fenwick's demands completely overturn the purpose of the Act.
Folios 476-479: enclosure with folios 476-477. Letter dated 17 February 1804 by Mr Blenkinsop. John Fenwick, Owner of the Content, North Shields has asked him to write for the release of Alexander Bontion, Carpenter, now detained on HMS Ceres and impressed because he did not have his wages set aganst his name. The wages are not put there by custom.
Folios 478-479: enclosure with folios 476-477. Declaration dated 16 February 1804 by Thomas Powell, Master of the Content. Alexander Bontion, Carpenter, was impressed even though he had signed articles for the Content. Hios wages were not written agaisnt his name as is the custom. the Mates and Carpenters receiev more than the Seamen.
