Folios 188-189: John Henry Cartier, HMS Brodenscarp, Shellness, Faversham. Is submitting letters from Rear Admiral Rowley.
Folios 190-209: enclosure with folios 188-189. John Henry Cartier: Bound copies of his letters to Rear Admiral Rowley relating to the detention of the Dove at Queensborough and all the other matters in the complaints against him.
Folios 191-192: enclosure with folios 188-189. Letter dated 20 June 1804 by B S Rowley, HMS Zealand at the Nore to Captain Cartier. Acknowlegdes receipt Cartier's letters and affidavits respecting the detention of the Dove of Queenborough.
Folio 193: enclosure with folios 188-189. Letter dated 18 June 1804 by John Henry Cartier, HMS Brodenscarp, Shellness, Faversham. Paid his personal respects to Colonel Lord Sandes, the Commandant of the [?] of Seray Volunteers doing military duty in Faverhsham. Encloses his affidavit and states that he acted in compliance with the 11th article of the General Printed Instructions relative to salutes.
Folio 194: enclosure with folios 188-189. Letter dated 17 June 1804 by John Morrell Lieutenant to Captain Cartier. Gives details of fishermen in the Success being contemptuous of the colours with further details form Charles Geere, Midshipman.
Folio 194: enclosure with folios 188-189. Oath sworn on 18 June 1804 by Charlles Geere, Midshipman of HMS Brodenscarp, concerning the Success of Faversham not showing her colours.
Folio 195: enclosure with folios 188-189. Information from John Bell, Master, and James Morris, Boatswain, who give testament that the Dove, Master Thomas Hodges, refused to show her colours and so two shots were fired.
Folios 195-197: enclosure with folios 188-189. Request from John Silvester, Sheerness. John Henry Cartier is commanded to appear at the exchequer court or risk a fine and Cartier's response to this follows.
Folios 198-199: enclosure with folios 188-189. John Henry Cartier to Admiral Rowley. He encloses a copy of a letter received from the Customs as a result of which Cartier released the vessels.
Folios 199-200: enclosure with folios 188-189. Statement from F F Luttrell, M.E. Agar, J.Buller, G.Wilson. June 16th 1804, Customs House London. The Hope, Elizabeth and Anne of Milton were detained for irregular paperwork. They inform Captain Cartier that the act does not require the Certificates of Registry to be kept on board.

Petition to John Henry Cartier from James Kelsey, Thomas Fairbanks, William Shrubsole, George Hark, David Tritson and James Bell begging him to protect their oysters now on Conger rock. This includes eight pages of details about oyster fishing, marketing and rivalry with the London markets.
Folio 204: enclosure with folios 188-189. John Henry Cartier. Copy of his letter demanding that the Water Court meet Cartier on board about the boundaries of Faversham. He stresses he has always done his duty and tried to avoid His Majesty's Service being insulted.
