Staff Register No 1.

The Register gives details of employee name, previous employment, details of who recommended the employee, dates of appointment, age at the time of joining the service of the company, height, details of probationary period salary, first ocupation after approval, and dates (where applicable) for being promoted, exchanged, reduced, dates for stoppage of pay, and details of suspension and dismissal, and dates of resignation or other reasons for leaving the service; the remarks column records mortality and further details of fines and cautions and promotions, as do inserted notes where further career details are recorded.

The Covering Dates for the piece refer to the first date of appointment and to the last date of appointment for the range of individuals in the Register.

Contents described at item level (Name; Occupation; Date of Appointment). The Covering Date(s) shown at item level are the Date of Appointment for the individual.

Generally, arranged chronologically by the date the employee entered into service with the North London Railway Company, however employee records on pages 1 to 56 do not appear to be in any obvious order.
