PILOT was established on 1 January 2000 as a joint programme involving the Government and the UK oil and gas Industry - Operators, Contractors, Suppliers, Trade Unions and SME's - aiming to secure the long-term future of the Industry in the UK. It is chaired by the Secretary of State for Energy.
