Description (What the record is about)
-
These records comprise the indexes to the Account Ledgers in J 337. Indexes are arranged chronologically and then by surname of the estate. Each index entry lists the names of all potential beneficiaries of the estate. A folio reference marked in black ink denotes the folio to locate in the corresponding Account Ledger to the period covered by the index. For example, J 340/ 14 (A-C Index, Bundle 1077, Vol 13, indexes 1894 to 1909) refers to the Account Ledger J 337/ 113 (1st Division, 16001-17000, vol 161). A further reference in red ink seems to be a sub-reference to each beneficiary listed but it is unclear to what records these refer to at present.
