The Civil Nuclear Police Authority was established in 2006 as the police authority that oversees the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. Its members are now appointed by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change (previously, prior to 2008, by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry).
