Description

Folios 203-204. A letter from John Robinson to Wm [William] Fraser, dated at Treasury Chambers, concerning the destruction of Newgate Prison and Kings Bench Prison [during the Gordon Riots]. Mentions: a proclamation requiring prisoners to surrender themselves; Mr Templar, assistant clerk of the crown; and Mr Mainwaring chief prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas. Enclosing: Folio 204. Report of the Board of Works certifying completion of the reconstruction, dated at the Office of His Majesty's Works, Whitehall [Middlesex].
