Folios 198-199. A letter from the Earl of Hillsborough to the Treasury Commissioners, dated at St James's [Middlesex] concerning the petition of Samuel Shelley, convicted at the Old Bailey of receiving stolen goods. Difficulties have arisen over the royal remission of part of Shelley's sentence, and the law officers' opinion is sought.
