Folios 190-192. A letter from John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at the Treasury Chambers [Whitehall, Middlesex] concerning the capture of the 'Bordeaux' yacht, laden at Cork [Ireland] with provisions. Papers have been sealed by the commissary of the Vice Admiralty Court, Plymouth [Devon]; and Sir George Hay has declined to interfere as not within the jurisdiction of the [?High Court of the] Admiralty Court. Request that the Attorney General be shown papers for his opinion on prosecution. Folio 191. A letter from Messrs Mathews and Barton, managing owners of the 'Union' privateer, to Robinson, dated at Green Lettuce Lane relating to her capture at the entrance to the Bordeaux River. Randal Stap is captain. Also mentioned the capture of the 'Good Intent', Jno [John] Ball [Bale] from Dublin to Bordeaux in similar circumstances.
