A letter from John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at Treasury Chambers [Whitehall, Middlesex] concerning the brigantine 'Bon Jesus de Tam', Mansel Rodriguez master, brought into Colne [?Estuary]. Enclosing: Folio 184. Edwd [Stanley] to Robinson, dated at Customs House London. Folio 185. H P Davis [Henry Pelham Davies] and James Cole, dated at Customs House, Harwich [Essex]. Folio 186. Stanley to Robinson, dated at Customs House, London. Folio 187. Davies and Cole to the Customs Commissioners, dated at Customs House Harwich. For want of space, barrels of gunpowder from the vessel sent to Languard Fort [Suffolk] were returned by the governor. Folio 188. Copy of J Howe [?William Howe; J Lowe], dated at Customs House London. In the Secretary's absence, he send various papers. Folio 189. Davies and Cole [to the Customs Commissioners], dated at Customs House Harwich. They've seized the papers and searched the cargo.
