Folios 54-59. A letter from [Treasury Secretary] John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten concerning papers seized from the baggage of American clergyman Bernard [Le] Page, a native of Oxford. Enclosing: Folio 55. Edward Stanley to Robinson, dated at Customs House, London. Folio 56. Stanley to William Knox, dated at Customs House, London. Folio 57. Collectors St [Stephen] Lintot [Lintott] and W Watson to the Customs Commissioners, dated at Customs House, Southampton [Hampshire]. The seized letters were forwarded from the governor of Jersey, on the packet boat 'Expedition', Nicholas Le Quesne master. Page is believed to have travelled from Plymouth, Massachusetts, to Nantes [France] aboard the brigantine 'Fanny', Wm [William] Tokley, commander. Folio 58. P [Paulus] Aemis [Aemilius] Irving to Lintott, dated at Guernsey, alerting him to Page. Folio 59. M [Moses] Corbet, lieutenant governor, dated at Jersey.
