Folios 42-43. A letter from Sir Sanier Porten for John Robinson, dated at St James's [Whitehall, Middlesex] requesting that directions be given concerning the provision of clothing to regiments in Ireland on foreign service. Encloses a note from Mr Lewis [not filed here], and mentions a copy of a note from Lord Barrington [Minister at War] sent on 16 September 1776. Folio 43. Robinson to Porten, dated at Treasury Chambers [Whitehall, Middlesex]. The Treasury Commissioners say the clothing should be exported from Ireland duty free, as if the regiments were serving abroad on the Irish establishment.
