Letter dated at Treasury Chambers from John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten enclosing for Lord Weymouth's information:- Letter dated at Downing Street from Sir George Wombwell to John Robinson that he has five ships at different ports loaded with provisions for the Gibraltar garrison besides others that he has ordered to get ready which he is 'at an utter loss how to send forward unless their Lordships will please to direct them a convoy, the crews of those loaded one and all refusing to stir without a convoy; alleging the almost moral certainty of falling into the hands of the French or Spaniards unless they have a convoy to protect them'. Folio 174. A Return of the provisions at Gibraltar on 6 June 1779 showing the state [as at] May 9 and time they will serve 6250 persons, also the receipts and issue since that period.
