Folio 176. Petition of Thomas Creaser to the King in favour of Thomas Haycock capitally convicted for being involved by his own account in the recent riots at Newgate. At the foot of the petition is a statement signed by Francis Diggan that Haycock was under his care and it is his opinion 'that any trifling circumstance may occasion a temporary return' of Haycock's insanity. Caleb Smith, John Callender, Francis Buckle, Richd [Richard] Hudson, Geo [George] Hodgson, Philip Townsend, Henry Wells, Stephen Jarvis, John Lock, Robert Dickinson, Peter Goostrey, Jno [John] Panton and Samuel Wood are each willing to testify to various instances of Haycock's insane state as well as to 'the extreme goodness of his character'.
