Folios 164-165. Letter dated at Mr Whittingham's Cary Street from Jno [John] Jefferys to [Lord Hillsborough] that Mr Baldwin's Christian name is Winthrop and a Special commission will be executed at Bath on 24 August for trying the rioters. He says he fears that if the Crown does not take up the prosecutions and give some directions for preparations in time 'little will be made of it'. He submits that directions should be given as to whether one George King should be prosecuted or made a witness for the Crown.
