Folios 62-64. Folios 62-63. Letter dated at Bristol [Somerset] from the Duke of Beaufort to [Lord Hillsborough] that all is quiet in Bristol the magistrates having been extremely active in taking every necessary precaution to prevent disturbances. With the letter is enclosed:- Folio 64. A Royal Proclamation dated 9 June 1780 promising to any person names any other person or persons guilty of the offences mentioned so that they can be prosecuted a reward of £50 and a pardon on conviction of the offender or offenders. Below the proclamation the Mayor and Aldermen of Bristol offer an additional reward of £10 10s to anyone who, within one month from 12 June 1780 apprehends within the city of Bristol any persons guilty of the offences, the money to be paid on the conviction of each offender.
