Folios 80-83. A letter from John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at Treasury Chambers [Whitehall, Middlesex], concerning complaints of outrages committed on French fishermen heard before the Admiralty court at la Hogue [Saint-Vaast-la-Hogue, France]. An advertisement is to be inserted in the newspapers to discover the ship which found the French fishing nets, and officers are to continue their inquiries. Folio 81. Edward Stanley to Robinson, dated at Customs House, London, advising that inquires have been ordered at Penzance [Cornwall]. Folio 82-83. Report of George Scobell, James Hodge and Richard Treeve, dated at Customs House, Penzance. After enquires, nothing can be learned concerning the French fishermen's complaints. Also refers to a complaint by Reve Coquet, and an account by Richard Pentreath, master of an English fishing boat, about finding French nets. Mentions: Irish wherries 'which are frequently on this coast'; and George Blewett and John James, merchants.
