Folio 41. A letter from Cha [Charles] Lowndes to John Christopher Roberts, dated at Treasury Chambers [Whitehall, Middlesex] concerning retailing of rum under licences granted by the governor of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is disadvantageous to the sea service. The Treasury Commissioners have no objection to orders being sent him, by Rear Admiral Lord Colville, as per a letter from Secretary [Henry Seymour] Conway dated on 11 March 1766.
