Folio 106. Note from the Governor, Deputy Governor and Gentlemen of the Bank to Lord Stormont that they are at present safe and hope to continue so but some attempts have been made which have caused the loss of some lives of which two fell just opposite the Bank. They say that 'fires and riots have happened and still continue in many parts of the neighbourhood which the present force is not sufficient to prevent'. Written at midnight.
