Folio 86. Letter written at 2.30 pm from Lords Stormont and Hillsborough to the Lord Mayor of London that every additional force will be sent to him that can be spared 'but in the meantime as there is respected information that the Bank [of England] is threatened with an immediate attack and as that is an object of such infinite importance not only to the City of London but to the nation in general the King makes no doubt that your Lordship will pay the greatest and near constant attention to this affair and immediately direct the force you have at present to be sent thither'.
