History: a French ship (flyboat, 200 tons, abandoned by her crew, no name but a crown and sceptre painted on her stern), laden with French salt; taken on 2 April 1696 (with 4 other ships) by HMS Litchfield (Lord Archibald Hamilton commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
