Captured ship: Providence of St Malo (master Peter or Pierre Fortune).
History: a French merchant ship (25 tons) bound from Bordeaux to Boulogne, laden with wine; taken on 22 February / 4 March 1690/1 off Guernsey by HMS Crown (Robert Wilmot commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
