Description

Captured ship: Providence of Glasgow (master Hugh Campbell).

History: a Scottish ship (24 tons), bound from La Rochelle to Copenhagen, laden with wine, brandy and salt; taken in 1695 by the Falmouth packet boat Spanish Alliance (John Hutchins commanding) [and brought into Corunna ?].

  • SP 1-SP 4: certificate, accounts, letters to the captain and to factor Michall Hall at Bilbao;
  • SP 5-SP 12: bills of lading, receipts, accounts, license issued at Bilbao;
  • SP 13-SP 22: customs paper, bill of lading, receipts, accounts, certificates, ship's pass, letter for Karlus Demissy at Copenhagen;
  • SP 23: further docket for the ship's papers.
