Captured ship: Pierre or Peter (master Peter or Pierre Gillet).
History: a French merchant ship (shallop, 3 tons) bound from the Bay of La Frénaye in Brittany to Lautregé, laden with cider, and vinegar; taken in May 1697 off the coast of Brittany by the privateer Hope (Elisha la Roche commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
