Description

Captured ship: St Pierre or St Peter of Barfleur (master Nicholas Clairet).

History: a French merchant ship (barque, 20 tons) bound from Dieppe to Barfleur, in ballast; taken on 8/18 August 1697 by HMS Canterbury (Andrew Leake commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
