Description

Captured ship: St Pierre or St Peter of Bordeaux (master Peter or Pierre Du Caurroy).

History: a French merchant ship (50 tons, 7 men) bound from Bordeaux to Calais, laden with wine, brandy, prunes, and cork; taken on 6/16 February 1692/3 off the Isle of Wight by the privateer Revenge (Joseph Carswell commanding), and brought into Southampton.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 4:

  • [CP 1]: two examinations;
  • [CP 2-CP 3]: inventory, commission of appraisement;
  • [CP 4]: docket for the ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 5, ship's pass, inventory, muster roll, navigation exercise.

[Decision: ship an cargo condemned 9 February 1693].
