Folios 170-171. A letter from Francis Geoghegan, dated at London, seeking a formal pardon to enable him to claim an inheritance. Geoghegan was born and brought up in France, of Irish parents, and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the French service. On the death of his cousin, he moved to London in 1778, with papers authorised by [British ambassador] Lord Stormont.
