A memorial from Thos [Thomas] Buttson, dated at 10 Crown Alley, Moorfields [Middlesex] with allegations of a plot by Myers and Turner, 'malicious speech', [treason] against the Royal Family, and the expression of the view that William III was an 'usurper'. [?Apparently deluded and somewhat 'deranged'], Buttson was brought up in Ireland [and he seems to be a weaver]. Mentions: 'the art of Jesuitism' [Roman Catholicism]; Mr Pickersgill, living in Friday Street [?Surrey]; Garsed and Merick; Myer's shop; Fitzgerald; the 'Crown' in Cock Lane [?Smithfields, London]; William Fairbrother who worked for Bowland and Bannard; loom work from one Johnson in Half Moon Alley, Bishopgate Street [Middlesex]; girls winding silk; Mrs Low in Petticoat Lane [London] where shoots [?suits] were to be obtained; Gravel Lane [London]; Mr Malo; Mr Cornish; murder of the Russian emperor [Peter III?]; the American [independence] war; [Jacobite] plots; and political affairs.
