Folios 120-122. A letter from Thos [Thomas] de Grey to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex]. Advises of the arrest of Captain Hutchins and Mr Burdy [accused of treasonable correspondence] with Mr Wharton at Paris [France, about the King's enemies in America]. Sir J [John] Fielding will report on the nature of the evidence produced. Folio 121-122. de Grey to Porton, dated at Upper Harley Street [Middlesex]. Concerns Captain Hutchins, who has gone to Leatherhead, Surrey; boats between Margate [Kent] and Ostend [Austrian Netherlands] sailing under Hungerian [Hungarian] colours; Frenchmen in company with [James] Peisley [Peisly], now detained; and enquires in Newman Street [Middlesex] of which Fielding is informed.
